Job description

As Receptionist, you will be an integral part of the Facilities Department and responsible for staffing and managing the Reception Desk with a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
Accepting and transferring incoming and outgoing phone calls;

  • Receiving (welcoming) and registering visitors in accordance with internal procedures;
  • Processing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail (post) and goods and engaging courier services;
  • Booking meetings- and/or other rooms and making reservations for catering;
  • Performing some administrative work;
  • Supervising / monitoring people entering the Reception desk area; and
  • (Ideally able to) provide first aid and engaging emergency services when necessary.

 The preferred start date is 29 August 2022.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who:
  • has an MBO Receptionist degree or similar;
  • has work experience in a similar role and affinity with working in an education environment is preferred;
  • has excellent intercultural communication skills in both written and spoken English and Dutch (additional languages are an advantage);
  • is representative, social and flexible;
  • is proactive, independent as well as a team player, problem solving and result oriented;
  • has excellent organizational skills.

Conditions of employment

UCR initially offers a contract for a year, starting preferably on August 29, 2022.

The employment contract is for 1.0 FTE (38 – 40 hours per week).

Salary will be based on CAO Dutch Universities salary scales in the range from scale 4 to scale 5 based on knowledge and experience. Commuting expenses within the Netherlands will be partly reimbursed. Furthermore, UCR offers secondary benefits according to the Collective Labor Agreement Dutch Universities, such as:

UCR is an English-taught Liberal Arts and Science college, located in Middelburg. We deliver an Utrecht University bachelors program and our students are also Utrecht University students.
