Your work as a senior researcher
Your main task as a senior researcher is to direct and initiate multidisciplinary, innovative and long-term research programmes. Together with your colleagues, you will investigate the impact of autonomous vehicles and vessels in logistics chains, the transition to zero-emission logistics, better utilisation and strengthening of hinterland connections and applications of digitisation of logistics chains. The focus of the research group is on the application and integration of new technology, new business models, digitisation and robotisation in logistics and the adaptation of supply chains to societal challenges. Combined applications of autonomous and manual systems in companies are other points of interest. You find the impact of research on Zeeland's logistics just as important as we do.

The research agenda is constantly evolving. To this end, the group works with Zeeland Connect and Greening Corridors, a national collaboration of knowledge institutions, governments and the business community.

Curiosity, enthusiasm, a practical focus, and involvement with the professional field and students are important qualities that you will recognise yourself in. Because, based on analysis, you develop a portfolio of research projects, build a network of relevant stakeholders, identify innovation needs and formulate and acquire new research questions. You apply newly acquired knowledge in education, because working with students keeps you sharp. The valorisation and publication of research results is a matter of course for you.

The Team
You work in a diverse and compact team led by a lector. The team has existed for several years but is still developing. Therefore, you also coach and guide other colleagues in the team.

With your experience as a senior researcher in technical and/or logistics research, you can start working on research projects immediately. Because of your experience with conducting scientific research, you are able to initiate, lead and carry out interesting research projects.

You also have the following:

• A completed PhD in a relevant field;
• Broad experience with research and/or consultancy in relevant fields of knowledge;
• Knowledge of and experience with the methodology of quantitative research and design science;
• Work experience in research projects involving multiple stakeholders;
• English language proficiency at Cambridge Proficiency level.

Fixed-term contract: For the duration of one year in the position of lecturer in higher education. Renewal of this appointment depends on personal performance and formative space.
