Job description

Laboratory technician for the High Pressure Laboratory at the University of Twente.

The High Pressure Lab is a unique facility where laboratory-scale and pilot-scale set-ups are built and operated, for experimental studies in the area of biomass conversion, plastic recycling, CO2 capture and conversion, separation technologies and more.

The expected tasks in this position include the construction, modification and maintenance of laboratory set-ups, as well as collaborating in the design of new ones. It is also expected that the candidate will be able to collaborate in running experimental programs.

Requirements

For this position we are searching for an ambitious candidate with a MBO or HBO degree in Chemical/Mechanical engineering, preferably with experience in building and maintaining laboratory set-ups, and able to communicate in English.

Conditions of employment

This is a position for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension with another 2 years. The salary indication is € 2.471 to max. € 3.336,- per month, depending on your knowledge and experience. The offer further involves: a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3%, a solid pension scheme, a minimum of 29 holidays, and numerous professional and personal development programmes.

Department

The Sustainable Process Technology (SPT) group is part of the Faculty of Science and Technology, TNW, at University of Twente. We develop experimental and modelling research in the areas of biomass conversion, affinity separations, plastic recycling, water and CO2 capture and conversion. We combine our expertise in different disciplines (process design, chemistry, catalysis, modelling, engineering) to contribute to the development of sustainable chemical processes.
