The Centre for Mergers, Acquisitions & Buyouts has extensive expertise on everything that has to do with mergers and acquisitions, ranging from deal origination to completion, and from financing to integration. In collaboration with our partners, we acquire and disseminate this knowledge and experience through research, training, and events. We are looking for a driven Junior Researcher to join this team!
The job
- Perform fundamental & applied research in the context of M&A and buyouts.
- Plan research projects: ask the right questions, use the right methodology etc.
- Conduct desk research: find and synthesis relevant publications.
- Develop questionnaires and other setups for data collection.
- Disseminate knowledge by writing papers, reports, articles and organizing events, workshops, and conferences for practitioners.
- Provide support for our teaching and other activities of the department or Vlerick business School at large.

Requirements
You
- Have a master’s degree with distinction and a research mind-set.
- Have an excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
- Are excited to conduct research with relevance to both the academic and the business world.
- Can work autonomously but are also a team player.
- Have a proactive attitude and great analytical skills. Knowledge of SPSS and other data-analysis tools is a plus.
- Are a great (academic) writer.
- Are willing to organize events to disseminate knowledge.
- Will be located on our campus in Ghent, Leuven or Brussels.
