We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious lecturer in marketing and consumer research who would like to join our Marketing and Consumer Behaviour (MCB) group.

The Wageningen University Marketing and Consumer Behaviour group is one of the leading research and teaching groups in the fields of agriculture and food worldwide. Our group has a commitment to excellent teaching and in our research makes essential theoretical contributions in the top journals of research fields such as Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Agricultural Economics and Food Sciences. MCB also emphasizes social impact of research ( "Science for Impact" ).

The position will consist of educational activities, both within curricular education and in supervising bachelor and master thesis students. The focus in the latter is to teach students how to develop research projects where they apply theories and collect and analyze data related to marketing and consumer behavior. The person appointed will also be expected to organize courses, deliver lectures and tutorials. In this position you will attain the nationally recognized Dutch university teaching qualification.

Requirements

We expect you to have:
  • a relevant background such as marketing, consumer behavior or marketing research;
  • a good knowledge of various research and statistical methods;
  • a PhD degree (or planned defense date);
  • affinity with sustainability, health, food and agribusiness;
  • an interest in student-focused teaching;
  • excellent English language proficiency (a minimum of CEFR C2 level). For more information about this proficiency level, please visit our special language page;
  • command of Dutch and previous teaching experience is valued.

Conditions of employment

Wageningen University & Research offers excellent terms of employment. A few highlights from our Collective Labour Agreement include:

  • the option to accrue additional compensation / holiday hours by working more, up to 40 hours per week;

Gross salary per month starting €2.960,- in the first year rising up to €4.670,- (scale 10) for a full working week of 38 hours in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for the Wageningen University.
