Job description

2022Sustainability has a large impact on the whole UT community. These changes demand thorough strategic management and a clear contact person for the various bodies within the UT.

Your role as Sustainability Coordinator

As sustainability coordinator, you are part of the Policy and Projects Department within Campus & Facility Management (CFM). The department consists of several departments, namely Real Estate & Maintenance, Facility Services, Sport & Culture, Policy & Projects and Purchasing. You will work closely with these departments. You will supervise the B&P colleagues who work on sustainability. You will report to and coordinate with the Manager of Policy and Projects in terms of content, hierarchy and operations.

The number of employees working specifically on sustainability has grown steadily the last few years. There is a well-functioning programme: the SEE programme (Sustainability, Energy and Environment) and a Green Hub has been set up. The SEE programme focuses on the UT's operations and the Green Hub is a network organisation driven by students with two staff members from B&P. There are now 5 staff members within B&P, but this is expected to increase in the coming years.
Moreover, there is the need for a good decision-making process and strategic coordination within the University of Twente, with the Executive Board and with the management boards of departments and faculties. You will also provide an important link to colleagues working on sustainability within education and research. This will be given further shape in the near future.
