Job description

The Radboud Consortium for Glycoscience (RCG) is an interfaculty initiative to promote research in the field of Glycosciences. Research groups of the Medical and Science faculties of Radboud University (see website) are collaborating in a diverse range of Glycoscience projects, ranging from synthetic and analytical chemistry to biology and applied clinical research. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic researcher to promote visibility of the RCG and further expand the network internationally with a clear focus on Glycan Editing.

As a postdoc you will actively interact with members of the RCG, work on glycomics and glycoproteomics projects, write collaborative grants and develop (international) teaching programs on Glycoscience. The position is formally housed within the analytical team of the Glycosylation Disorders group with strong links to other RCG investigators. As this position is an interfaculty position, regular meetings with collaborators at Radboud University will be organized.

Tasks and responsibilities
  • Collaborate in RCG projects on glycomics/glycoproteomics technologies in our analytical glycan mass spectrometry team.
  • Develop (international) teaching programs on Glycoscience within RadboudUMC and RU educational program.
  • Support grant writing.
  • Actively promote the Radboud Consortium for Glycoscience, for example via the website or via own ideas.

Requirements

In addition you possess the profile below:
  • Academic degree (PhD) in analytical chemistry, preferably glycan mass spectrometry.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to translate high-level expert knowledge at different levels.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic.

Fixed-term contract: 2 years.

The post-doc will collaborate with multiple groups within the Radboud University and will physically be based in the Translational Metabolic Laboratory (TML). TML houses a broad range of mass spectrometry equipment, including Agilent QqQ and QTOF, Sciex QTRAP and Bruker timsTOF mass spectrometers. At Radboud university, the Institute for Molecules and Materials (IMM) and the Free Electron Laser for IR Experiments (FELIX) facility host chemical labs, NMR spectroscopy, LCMS and IR ion spectroscopy.
