Job description

The Dutch government has decided to invest for the long term in academic research by means of three so-called 'sector plans'. These investments enable the Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies at Radboud University to attract researchers, create a future-proof range of educational opportunities, and to strengthen the strategic cooperation between institutions, specifically in the Social and Behavioural Sciences and Humanities (SSH, website in Dutch).
The Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies has an opening for three postdoctoral researchers to work on projects in one of the following themes:
(i) Humane AI.
(ii) Cultural and religious heritage.
(iii)Migrant inclusion and wellbeing.

The faculty therefore invites researchers to submit proposals for research in one of these thematic areas, as closely related as possible to the research of one or two of the six research centres of the Faculty. These six centres are: the Radboud Center for Philosophy and Society (RCPS), the Center for the History of Philosophy and Science (CHPS), the Center for Cognition, Culture and Language (CCL), the Center for Contemporary European Philosophy (CCEP), the Center for Textual, Historical, and Systematic Studies of Judaism and Christianity (CTHS), and the Center for Religion and Contemporary Society (CRCS).

You will be expected to regularly participate in the meetings of the research centre(s), and to contribute to research within the relevant subtheme at the local and national level in the interfaculty and interuniversity collaboration groups that will be created along the lines of the ‘sector plans’. The postdoc that will work on Migrant Inclusion and Wellbeing will maintain a close link with the Radboud University Network on Migrant Inclusion (RUNOMI).

In the coming years, you will publish in a variety of outlets, relevant to your specific field, contribute to the organisation of conferences, and contribute to collaborative volumes or journal issues. You will be expected to teach one or two courses in our Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme (max. 20% of the appointment).
