Job description

This is the perfect position for you, provided you are a seasoned communications advisor feeling at home in a challenging scientific plus innovative environment and having affinity with both business development and innovation.

As communications advisor for Innovation & Business Development (a new position within QuTech) your responsibilities will include communications and relationships with new and existing QuTech business partners, partnerships and partner organizations. To that end, you will conduct PR and marketing and create opportunities to best position and brand QuTech. You are experienced in press, media and promotion and you expertly use all communication channels and tools to make the best impact. You create communication plans and know how to best land the message. Writing and producing narratives, stories, press and news releases, web texts and socials: it all comes naturally to you.

Business Development and Innovation are strongly developing and growing within QuTech. You can hold your own in this dynamic international environment easily and provide solicited and unsolicited assistance and advice to the board and management of QuTech. Obviously you will also support the internal target group and - together with the team - provide clear information about your focus areas to your internal colleagues.

You will work embedded in the Communications team, part of the QuTech Operations directorate. You report directly to the manager of Communications and work closely with the Communications advisor Science, the latter will replace you in case of absence and vice versa. In addition to the Communications manager and the Communications advisor Science, we have two team members responsible for branding, resources and socials. Projects and assignments are tackled and carried out jointly in team context. Given the nature of your position, you also closely cooperate with the Business Development team and BD directorate.

Requirements

The following applies to you:

  • You operate on academic level and you are an experienced communicator;
  • You are proactive and think in terms of opportunities, you are a self-starter and team player, always acting as a true connector;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in both Dutch and English, you are a smooth and sharp writer;
  • Affinity with science and technology is a plus;

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 1 jaar.

  • Duration of contract is 1 year with prospect of permanent.
  • A job of 30-32 hours per week.
  • You are employed in scale 10 of the collective agreement for Dutch universities, but if you perform well and show positive development, you may move up to scale 11 with a minimum of € 3,974 and a maximum of € 5,439 gross per month for a full-time contract.
  • The possibility to compile an individual employment package every year.
