Maastricht University is looking for a new Student Initiative Helpdesk coordinator to support new and existing student initiatives with new ideas and the development of their organisations.

Are you passionate about helping others and know your way around Maastricht and its student landscape? Then the Student Service Centre (SSC) is looking for you as of September 2022.

Job description

In support of projects such as Match, Kaleido, mymaastricht, as well as the Student Project Team (SPT) you will become the gatekeeper for questions of the boards and leaders of Maastricht’s student organisations. Your main goal will be to guide and advise associations with their questions, while managing a knowledge database with relevant information on starting and maintaining a student organisation in Maastricht.
By organising multiple workshops and network events throughout the academic year, you will support and connect various initiatives. Alongside, it is your task to oversee and improve student organisation-related policies within UM. The effective collaboration with other departments is thereby an essential element of your work.

You're key tasks will be to

  • Manage and update the existing database of information in form of a digital Helpdesk in collaboration with various UM departments
  • Connect associations to relevant departments and employees
  • Provide basic legal (advice on writing statutes, notary, etc.) and financial guidance
  • Develop the brand of the SIH further and promote the Helpdesk to students and staff of UM (Social media and Newsletter)
  • Organise various workshops with partner organisations on topics such as funding possibilities, board transitions or event organisation

Requirements

  • High written and spoken Dutch and English language proficiency
  • Good social skills
  • Good administrative skills
  • Experience in and familiar with Maastricht’s student organisations
  • Well-informed about university operations and departments
  • Experience in legal or financial consulting is a plus

  • Salary level of scale 8 (CAO-NU), with the tier according to experience for 0,8 FTE (30,4 hours);
  • Flexible working spot in the StudentenStad office at the Student Services Centre; Work-Laptop and phone provided;
