As functional administrator, you will work in a team of administrators to support the deployment of information systems used for research.

Job description

As functional administrator, you will work in a team of administrators to support the deployment of information systems used for research (PURE and Hora Finita). You think along with the researchers who are using these systems and you translate their needs into functionalities. You respond to queries and deal with incidents through TopDesk. You will maintain contact with key users and colleagues about this. You also provide reports and make sure that the functional and technical documentation is up to date. Being able to quickly distinguish between main and secondary issues comes in useful. Many parties are involved in these systems, and they often have different wishes. You are good at empathizing with their wishes and enjoy working together with them on finding practical solutions.

With the team you actively look for ways to keep improving the relationship with the users.

This position is embedded within the department of Digital Resource Management (12 FTE). The department of Digital Resource Management is responsible for managing all systems and applications for which the library operates as system owner. In addition, the department also manages the knowledge base of the library and its underlying metadata models. The department provides knowledge and capacity on IT development to the other departments and projects.

Requirements

  • A higher education or university degree background
  • Affinity with information management or process management
  • Knowledge and experience in a similar position is convenient, but not necessary
  • You have strong communication skills, are curious and enjoy helping others
  • You handle your work with care, and you oversee the progress of your work
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language (at least B2-level)

Conditions of employment

Employment will be for a period of 1 year with the prospect of a permanent appointment. The start date of this position is as soon as possible, and you will be based at the University Library in Rotterdam. The position is for 1.0 FTE. The salary is dependent on your experience and knowledge and ranges from a minimum of € 2.960,- monthly gross wage] to a maximum of € 4.670,- gross per month on a fulltime basis, in accordance with scale 10 of the CAO-NU. In addition, we offer an 8% holiday allowance, an end-of-year payment of 8.3%, and a very generous paid leave scheme. Furthermore, EUR is affiliated with ABP for the pension provision, and we offer partially paid parental leave, fully paid extended birth leave for partners, a personal career budget, work-life balance coaches, discounted collective health insurance, and more.
