Job description

For this postion, you will join the Europeam project SEQUOIA that regroups 11 European partners. Its objective is to demonstrate the highest resolution OCT system ever built, protected from environmental noise through AI-based control of OAM in a real-world application: retinal imaging.

Your task within this project is

- to create light beams of given OAM using SLMs.

- built an experimental set-up based on interferometry

- apply phase retrieval methods to evaluate the quality of the beams

- measure the beam after interaction with the sample.

- implement an AI algorithm to generate correction phase masks and obtain settings of the SLM that give optimum quality OAM beams.

The AI part will be done in collaboration with partners from the university Politechnic of Valencia (UPV) in Spain that has the experience in building such algorithm.
The position is therefore very experimental and the results will be part of a compact demonstrator.
