Job description

The Challenge

As a Grants Officer at Nyenrode Business University you will be supporting the organization and its faculty as an expert advisor on European & international research grants – further stimulating its collaborative and international research ambitions and impact. The position is for four to five days (32-40 hours per week) and positioned within the International Office, part of the Academic Services Center.

You will be responsible for:

  • Building a network with relevant (international) institutes and funding agencies, and act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Track and identify funding opportunities relevant to Nyenrode’s Expertise Centers and faculty;
  • Supporting grant applications and advising faculty on drawing up successful proposals;
  • Responsible for the accountability process including progress & final reporting 
  • Stimulating and encouraging international consortium-building for the purposes of successful grant and project applications;
  • Implementing grants and support scientific staff in managing and reaching core grant milestones;
  • Writing grant/project progress reports;
  • Managing grant budgets;
  • Liaising closely with the Research Director and relevant colleagues at Nyenrode in all matters of grant implementation.

Requirements

Who are you?

For the position of Grants Officer we are looking for a person with the following skills & attributes:

  • Proven experience (minimum of three years) working on externally funded projects such as Horizon Europe;
  • Minimum of a graduate degree;
  • Ability to understand, develop, and apply complex policies; familiarity with research policies and the world of university-level research would be an asset;
  • Ability to advise on research grants and identify potential for forming collaboration and consortia;
  • Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well with faculty members;
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to keep track of and meet deadlines; budget projections and tracking;
  • Excellent MS Office skills;
  • Self-motivated; can take initiative and work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team.;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Dutch and English

  • Depending on work experience, we offer a maximum of € 5.373,-- in a ft position (scale 10 or 11).
  • 30 days off with the possibility to increase by five days.
  • Fixed end of year bonus of 5,1%
  • Flexible end of year bonus of max. 4,5%
  • Working from home allowance, Internet allowance & commuting allowance
  • The possibility of enrolling at courses & Master classes offered by Nyenrode, as well as external organizations.
  • The possibility of working hybrid. You’ll receive a € 850,- budget through Coolblue to set up your home office.

ASC colleagues provide support in various education- and research-related activities, such as quality assurance, education development and internationalization.
