Job description

Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM) provides research support to the faculty members, PhD candidates and professional staff at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) and at the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE).The Part-time PhD programme is for senior (international) business practitioners with backgrounds in the fields of business and economics.

In this programme, we're looking for an internationally orientated PhD officer to strengthen the programme's administrative team.

As our programme officer, you work closely with the programme's administrators and the academic director. As part of the ERIM team, you join around 15 research support professionals. You primarily serve as the financial administrator and first point of contact for students who are graduating. Additionally, it is your job to support all the processes relating to programme co-ordination.

Your main tasks
As our programme officer for the Part-time PhD, we expect you to:
  • provide incoming PhD students with official agreements and letters
  • process and administrate the invoices and payments of the PhD programme
  • support PhD students with their promotion trajectory in the administrative system Hora Finita
  • support PhD students with the publication of their dissertation and facilitate their graduation process
  • contribute to the smooth and optimal quality service delivery of the PhD programme, including personal relations and admission.

Requirements

You're eligible for this role if you can demonstrate:
  • at least two years of relevant professional experience, preferably in programme management or finance
  • a completed BSc or MSc degree in business, economics, social sciences or a related field
  • an excellent command of relevant software packages (MS Office, Excel) and preferably research information/course administration systems and reporting tools
  • a good command of the English and Dutch language, both spoken and written.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 12 months.

When you're the right person for this vacancy, we can offer you a full-time contract for an initial period of 12 months. After that, we offer you the possibility for a permanent contract upon satisfactory performance.

We operate on a hybrid work model. This gives you the freedom to choose which days of the week you work virtually and which days you work on our vibrant campus. As our Part-time PhD programme officer, you join an international and interdisciplinary team of committed and enthusiastic research support professionals.

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 2,818 up to a maximum of € 3,764 gross per month (scale 8 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.

Erasmus University has attractive employment conditions, which include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, and a considerate amount of vacation days.
