As project Development Officer, you are the expert on acquiring research funding and developing new research projects in collaboration with (international) researchers, clinics and (medtech) industry. In this position, you specifically will focus on supporting researchers with the development of research projects in collaboration with industry, as you act as linking pin between scientists and representatives of the medical industry. In close collaboration with colleagues in the C3Te team, you also prepare, manage and organize meetings and events for C3Te aimed at stimulating new connections, new funding opportunities and valorization of knowledge within the healthcare domain. Your expertise enables you to match funding opportunities with the innovative ideas generated within C3Te. Together with the researchers, you explore new research ideas and support them in clearly articulating problems, approaches, solutions and their impact on project proposals or business contracts. You take away the researchers' worries concerning the administrative parts of projects during project development and project startup and (where needed) support with project management.

Requirements

The successful candidate has a PhD or Master's degree in the field of electrical engineering, physics or equivalent, with affinity for the medtech domain, experience in medtech industry and knowledge of the scientific field.

The successful candidate has most of the following skills:
  • Familiar with acquiring (inter)national research funding and developing new projects and know the rules and regulations imposed by the various funding organizations.
  • Expertise in setting up quality research and innovation projects in collaboration with (medical) industry with a strength in structuring and substantiating research ideas in high quality project proposals.
  • Team player in cooperation with researchers, support staff as well as other departments, universities and companies.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English, with command over Dutch language.
  • Goal-oriented, proactive, organized, hands-on, reliable and considered as a recognized sparring partner. You are flexible and can work under deadline pressure.
  • Aware of how science works (at least at MSc level in a technical discipline) and knows what drives researchers.

Conditions of employment

We offer a challenging job in the dynamic, ambitious but informal Center for Care & Cure Technology (C3Te) at a stimulating and internationally renowned research institute. The salary depends on your experience and is in accordance with the collective labor agreement.  We offer you:
  • A monthly salary of minimum € 2.960,- to maximum € 5.439,- for
    full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience (scale 10-11), collective labor agreement for Dutch Universities).
  • In addition to vacation pay, a structural end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
