Job description

Looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the field of atmospheric physics and meteorology? The Meteorology and Air Quality (MAQ) group at Wageningen University Research (WUR) has an open position for a tenure-track researcher to join our team! We are seeking innovative candidates with a strong research background, the potential for leadership in their field, and the ability to teach and advise students at the BSc and MSc levels.

At WUR, we value applicants who bring new and complementary research topics and methods to the table, whether that be through experimental field work, numerical modeling, or theoretical analysis. Affinity with the MAQ's current lines of meteorological research, which range from local to global scales and focus on land-atmosphere interactions, is a plus. In addition to conducting research, this position involves teaching courses related to atmospheric/climate dynamics, atmospheric boundary-layer, and land-atmosphere interactions.

As a leading institution in the Netherlands and globally ranked number one in the fields of agriculture, ecology, and the environment, WUR offers an excellent educational experience. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on groundbreaking research projects that combine advanced measurement techniques with fine-scale numerical simulations, such as the Amazonia field campaign and Amsterdam urban campaign. We are looking for a curious, driven scientist who is comfortable with both fieldwork and modeling, and able to combine these approaches in a conceptual framework.
