Job description

The Ph.D. student will be based at the Department of Accounting and Information Management, which is known to be one of the best in its field in Europe. For example, its PhD Program in Accounting is ranked #1 in Europe based on the all-time BYU ranking (see http://www.byuaccounting.net/rankings/phdrank/rank_phd_cnt.php?sortorder=ranking306&qurank=All). The majority of research in the department can be classified as economics-based, quantitative empirical research, and experimental research.

Requirements

Candidates will be judged on the basis of the requirements outlined below. To be considered, candidates should make sure that their application letter demonstrates how they meet these requirements: 

  • Successful completion of a Master degree in Economics and Business Administration or similar studies. A research master would be an advantage but not a prerequisite.
  • Skills in quantitative analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Conditions of employment

  • Salary scale: PhD (Dutch University Salary Scales) €2.541 - €3.247.
  • Employment basis: Temporary for a specified period
  • Duration of the contract: 1,5 + 2,5 years
  • Maximum hours per week: 38
  • Additional duties: Involvement as a teacher in tutorials
