The School of Business and Economics (SBE) of Maastricht University offers a 4-year PhD position for students with a (Research) Master degree or equivalent in the Department of Microeconomics and Public Economics.

Job description

The Department of Microeconomics and Public Economics is looking for PhD candidates in Economic Theory and Behavior (including Microeconomic Theory, Public Economics, Game Theory, Social Choice, Behavioral Economics, Experimental Economics and Neuroeconomics).

Requirements

In order to qualify, you must have successfully completed a Master’s degree (MSc or MPhil) in Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or a related area (preferably before July 2023, at the latest by September 2023) and have a good competence in written and spoken English. Graduation from a two-year Master’s programme (120 ECTS) and a quantitative background will be advantages.

 

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 4 years.

You have to be willing to move to (the vicinity of) Maastricht. If you do not already live in Maastricht (or its direct surroundings), you will be eligible for an allowance for moving costs. Other secondary conditions include a pension scheme and partially paid parental leave.
