Job description

Do you have a strong background in Mathematics, Stochastic Operations Research and/or Game Theory? Do you want to use this background to help European military organizations cooperate? If so, then this might be an excellent opportunity for you.

We are looking for someone who has the ambition to perform rigorous research with high practical relevance that can be published in top journals in the fields of Game Theory, Management Science, and Operations Research. This exciting position is part of the 'Robust and Light Additive Manufacturing Components for Military systems (ROLIAC)' program, which is funded by the European Union. The goal of the research is to identify the (im-)possibilities for stable collaborative initiatives amongst defense organization in military areas, for example multiple nations pooling spare parts in a mission area. The candidate will do so by using Game Theory.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Operations Research, Econometrics, Industrial Engineering, (Applied) Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills and demonstrated competence for quantitative modelling.
  • The ability to work on a challenging topic that has both fundamental and applied research aspects.
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in English and an ability to collaborate in an international setting.
  • Motivation to develop teaching skills and coach students.
