PLG is a thriving department where a wide range of legal and social science disciplines are represented and where we conduct high-level research and teaching. Our department has leading scholars working in the fields of constitutional and administrative law, international law, legal theory and philosophy, legal history, and public administration. Here you will find the space to further develop yourself as a scholar and you will be supported along the way by inspiring colleagues.
Tilburg Law School is looking for an enthusiastic colleague for the position of associate professor of constitutional and administrative law in the Department of Public Law and Governance.
As associate professor, you will teach constitutional and administrative law courses in the English and, in due time, Dutch-language bachelor's and master's programs. You will also coordinate courses and supervise students in writing their thesis. You will also be expected to contribute to the further development of our educational program, in which you will be supported by, among others, the Tilburg Law School innovation team. In addition to your teaching duties, you will conduct independent academic research in a (sub)field of constitutional and/or administrative law and supervise doctoral students in their research in that field. We are looking for someone whose research agenda offers clear starting points for collaboration within the department and within the Signature Plan Global Law and Governance, a research vision that engages our researchers and furthers inter- and cross disciplinary collaborations. "Rethinking law and governance" and team science are central to this signature plan. The type of research agenda we are looking for is regarded by peers as innovative, it is set within administrative and/or constitutional law, is relevant to international scientific debates and is socially engaged. Within PLG and Tilburg Law School you will also be required to fulfil various management tasks and (further) develop leadership qualities.
