Job description

The nanomedicine group (Prof. Dr. Roland Brock) within the department of Medical Biosciences of the Radboud University Medical Center searches for a postdoctoral researcher fort he project "ADRNALIN - Advanced Delivery of RNA Lipid Nanoparticles" that aims to develop lipid nanoparticles for targeted delivery of RNAs (mRNA, antisense RNA, siRNA). Will you join our team of students, PhDs, and postdocs?

In collaboration with three Biotech companies and the university of Twente, you will prepare lipid nanoparticles, functionalize these lipid nanoparticles with peptides and engineered proteins and investigate their targeting characteristics in vitro and in vivo making use of fluorescence microscopy, microfluidic tumor-on-a-chip systems and animal experiments. This project is part of our activities in tumor targeting and targeting of skeletal muscle in myotonic dystrophy. The employment will be for two years (full time). Ideally, you will start May 1st. Other start dates can be negotiated.

As postdoctoral researcher in this project you will:
  • Form RNA-lipid nanoparticles using microfluidic techniques.
  • Functionalize these nanoparticles with peptide and protein ligands.
  • Characterize these nanoparticles with dynamic light scattering.
  • Investigate the targeting and delivery activity using tissue culture and microfluidic tumor-on-a-chip system.
  • Determine the in vivo biodistribution using xenograft tumor models in mice. The animal experiments will be conducted in the center for animal experimentation of the Radboudumc and are strongly assisted by technical personnel.
