Job description

In your role as tenure track assistant professor in organisational behaviour (OB) at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) department of Organisation and Personnel Management, you explore every facet of the field of organisational behaviour. Among others, your expertise in topics like leadership and/or team processes give you a distinct advantage. Furthermore, you have the ability to address current changes in the work context that have come about thanks to digitalisation.

Your main tasks
  • Conduct and publish research in the field of organisational behaviour
  • Engage in and contribute to the department's scholarship, in particular the Erasmus Centre for Leadership (https://www.rsm.nl/faculty-research/centres/erasmus-centre-for-leadership/)
  • Teach master and bachelor students, with the potential to teach post-graduate students as well
  • Supervise master and bachelor theses
  • Engage in RSM's mission to be a force for positive change

Requirements

As our ideal candidate, you possess:
  • A PhD or expected completion of your PhD during 2023 in OB, HR, organisational psychology or a closely related field in management or social sciences
  • Known expertise in the field of organisational behaviour
  • Outstanding demonstratable achievements in OB research or clear evidence of high potential for such research e.g., published papers or high-quality papers in the pipeline for top management journals (see ERIM journal list)
  • Teaching excellence or can show a clear indication of excellent teaching potential

Your required competencies
You are:
  • Passionate about research and teaching
  • A team player, willing to collaborate with others and positively contribute to the department's development and excellence
  • Fluent in English

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: Initially ten years, with intention of permanent contract.

This is a full-time position with a contract of 38 hours per week, preferably starting in September 2023.

The conditions of employment correspond with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 3,974 (scale 11 CAO NU) and up to a maximum of € 6,181 gross per month (scale 12 CAO NU), based on a full-time contract of 38 hours.
