Job description
The challenge
We are seeking a scientist with a passion for exploring experimental techniques in sustainable heat processes including the storage, conversion and transfer of heat, with applications in heat management of devices, industrial waste heat recovery, and evaluation of materials for energy storage and conversion. As a member of our thermal conversion and storage team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects aimed at developing new technologies and approaches to decarbonize heat to meet the most pressing challenges of the industry today.
In addition to conducting research, you will be expected to foster collaboration with other groups at the university, national, and international levels. You will have the opportunity to share your expertise in experimental techniques in heat and mass transfer by teaching courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as supervising MSc projects.
As an assistant professor, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive work environment that encourages growth and development.
You are in the possession of a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field, and have expertise in the broad fields of experimental heat transfer.
You have a proven track record in conducting innovative fundamental or applied research, demonstrated by the ability to publish in leading international journals.
Experience in teaching and mentoring is considered an advantage. We encourage candidates who are excited to share their knowledge and expertise with our students.
In addition to your research and teaching responsibilities, you will also be working collaboratively with other members of our team and to take the initiative to pursue new research opportunities.
Proficiency in English both verbal and written is a requirement.
Conditions of employment
A fulltime position for 1 year, with the prospect of a permanent position after a positive evaluation;
A gross salary between € 3.974,- and € 6.181,- per month, depending on experience and qualifications. The salary is in accordance with Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities;
A holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3% and a solid pension scheme;
