Job description

You will be supporting the colleagues at the Aurora Central office - and in the Aurora network - in administrative work. In part by helping them to take care of administrative tasks themselves, in part by doing that for them when it is more expedient.

Your duties
  • Information management: manage the digital folder system, email contacts, help formatting documents, help conducting online surveys, occasionally handle correspondence.
  • Organisation: (help) organise events in Amsterdam and elsewhere, manage office supplies, travel.
  • Administration: follow up meetings, help drafting policy-sensitive annotated agenda's and minutes.
  • Support Aurora secretary general in financial and strategically sensitive regulatory matters.

Requirements

  • Administrative and practical skills and competence in handling digital documents, > 6 years experience, preferably also with banks and Chamber of Commerce.
  • We are looking for people who understand how universities work in terms of policies, strategies and practice and who understand that universities working differently in various countries and
  • who are fluent in English (at least C1 of the CEFR).
  • We want you to be flexible and adapt to a small international office team and to a diverse international academic community; we want you to understand the policy and strategy dimensions of the support you give across the universities in Europe and beyond.
  • Competence in Dutch and /or other European languages is appreciated

Conditions of employment

A challenging position in a socially involved organization. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of € 2.693 (scale 7)
and a maximum €3.072 (scale 8), depending on your education and experience. The job profile: is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for at least 0.8 FTE.

The initial employment contract will affect a period of 1 year.

one of the founding members and plays host to the central Aurora Office. The Aurora
office is hosted within SOZ, but works independently and for all Aurora member
universities alike.
Aurora has been recognised as part of the European Universities initiative and receives funding from the European Commission in that context. Our second phase of EU funding starts in November 2023.
