Job description

As Interim PhD Coordinator (maternity leave replacement) at the Donders Graduate School, you will have an important role in facilitating and developing a wide variety of activities related to our PhD programme. You will work closely with the scientific director, the management director and the management assistants of the Donders Institute bureau. You will help design and maintain the educational programme for PhD candidates, monitor the PhD programme, including the individual PhD candidates' progress, career perspectives, and support of PhD candidates in difficulties. You will regularly organise events to as part of the Graduate School's lively and interactive programme. Furthermore, you will be expected to maintain the Graduate School's newsletter and website.

Requirements

  • You should hold a Master's or PhD degree, preferably in a discipline related to the Donders Institute's activities.
  • Excellent organisational and social skills are essential to fulfil this position successfully.
  • English is the lingua franca at the Donders Institute and proficiency in spoken and written English and Dutch is a pre-requisite.
  • Familiarity with web design and knowledge of the Dutch doctoral system are advantageous.
  • You will be expected to work proactively and in a result-oriented manner.
  • You should have a positive, service-oriented attitude. You are a team player, socially intelligent, and show commitment.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 8 months as replacement during maternity leave.

  • It concerns an employment for 0.7 - 0.8 FTE.
  • The gross monthly salary amounts to a minimum of €3,226 and a maximum of €5,9290 based on a 38-hour working week, depending on previous education and number of years of relevant work experience (salary scale 10 or 11, based on experience and seniority).
  • You will receive 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
  • It concerns a temporary employment for 8 months as replacement during maternity leave.
  • You will be able to use our Dual Career and Family Care Services. Our Dual Career and Family Care Officer can assist you with family-related support, help your partner or spouse prepare for the local labour market, provide customized support in their search for employment and help your family settle in Nijmegen.
