The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is looking for a Senior Small Animal Clinical Anaesthetist. The position is available from March 2019 onwards. The major tasks of the appointee will consist of clinical duties and associated teaching (Bachelor's and Master's students, Interns and Residents), supervision of the daily case load and close communication with specialist colleagues from other disciplines, to provide the highest standards of patient care. The Faculty also provides an emergency service and participation in the on-call anaesthesia rota (1:9) is required.

The appointee must have a DVM with an EU-recognized diploma and ideally be an ECVAA or ACVAA Diplomate, or otherwise successfully completed a residency in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia and be eligible for specialty board examination (ECVAA or ACVAA). You should be interested in working in an academic environment and have an interest in research and teaching. We are looking for a motivated, conscientious candidate with good communication skills, who likes to work in a team and shares our objectives of providing the highest quality patient care. Fluent English (both spoken and written) is mandatory and learning to communicate in Dutch is encouraged, although not essential.

We offer a temporary position (1.0 FTE) for one year. The gross salary - depending on previous qualifications and experience - ranges between €3,637 and €5,656 (scale 11 according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) gross per month for a full-time employment. Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8 % and a year-end bonus of 8.3 % per year.
