One of the key areas here is Health. We have an exciting opportunity in this area for an Assistant Professor in a Tenure Track position.
We are looking for a talented academic to develop new research and design lines and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team within the context of the programme “Pride & Prejudice - Tackling chronic disease prevention through real-life monitoring and context-aware intervention design”, which is financially supported by the 4TU federation.

Within the UT, this project has a close collaboration with the department of Biomechanical Engineering and with the research program Personalised eHealth Technology https://www.utwente.nl/en/techmed/research/ehealth/ that is part of the Technical Medical Centre of the University. In the tenure track position the applicant will have the opportunity to develop her/his research and design lines in new frameworks for behaviour change and in development and evaluation of (personalised) technology in preventive healthcare. Central to the Pride & Prejudice programme is the combination of monitoring in real-life through sensors (food intake, physical activity and health parameters) with development of design interventions at different levels of the system (person, group, society), and evaluation of the (long-term) effectiveness of these combined interventions.

We offer a position for a maximum period of seven years with the intention to grant tenure after a positive final evaluation in the last year of employment (or earlier if you meet the requirements). Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) of the Dutch Universities.

The Faculty of Engineering Technology (ET) is one of the five faculties of the University of Twente. ET combines Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Industrial Design Engineering. Our faculty has approximately 1800 bachelor and master students, 400 employees and 150 PhD candidates.
