… within the Recruitment & Admissions Department (bachelor, pre-master and master programmes) of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM).
RSM’s Recruitment & Admissions (R&A) department is a young and dynamic shared service department within BSc & MSc Programme Management at RSM. The R&A office aims to further increase enrolment by attracting a high-quality and international student body on behalf of the bachelor programme International Business Administration (IBA), two pre-master and 14 master programmes.
Your main tasks
The admissions officer works within a team of nine people and reports to the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Admission.
As one of our admissions officers, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
evaluating the often complex applications for admission to the BScIBA, pre-master and MSc programmes
providing excellent customer service as well as accurate and timely advice to our applicants regarding the admission to our programmes
actively contributing to the continuous development and optimisation of the admissions and scholarship processes
leading the evaluation, decision-making and administrative process for scholarship applications in collaboration with various colleagues and stakeholders
staying up-to-date of new scholarship schemes and designing new application procedures
planning and organising selection interviews for selective MSc programmes
representing RSM at (international) student recruitment fairs
updating various web pages and mailings
participation in national networks on credential evaluation
keeping up with national and international laws and policy on student mobility.
Required qualifications and competencies
The ideal candidate has:
a higher professional or academic degree
preferably two years’ experience with the evaluation of international education credentials
a strong client focus; demonstrable experience of providing first-class customer services
prior working experience within higher education, especially the use of Osiris is a plus
demonstrable verbal and written communication skills in Dutch (level B2 minimum) and English (level C1 minimum)
well-organised, detail- and result-oriented, accurate and efficient
flexible, creative and able to function under the pressure of tight deadlines and large volumes of applications
strong interpersonal skills
team player
effective communication skills to handle admission enquiries and financial support requests from prospective students, also under time pressure.
The conditions of employment of Erasmus University Rotterdam comply with the collective labour agreement for Dutch universities (CAO NU). We offer a part-time contract, initially for one year. Salary is subject to training and experience and may vary from a minimum of € 2,579 (scale 8) up to a maximum of € 3,895 (scale 9) gross per month, based on a full-time contract of 38 hours. The attractive employment conditions include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, and a generous number of vacation days.
As the admissions officer will mainly work at our Woudestein campus, we expect our new colleague to reside in or close to Rotterdam.
