The statistics group has an opening for one software engineer/programmer (for a period of four years). The candidate will work on an STWproject called 'Rapid micro statistics' that is a collaboration with three international pharmaceutical companies and funded by the Dutch science foundation NWO (
www.stw.nl/nl/content/rapidmicrostatistics).
The software engineer will build a user friendly software package that contains the statistical methods that are developed by the researchers in the project. The software engineer will work closely with the involved companies to understand the user requirements for the software package. The candidate will work closely related with the two project leaders.
The software engineer has a degree in computer science (or equivalent), preferably at the Master of Science level. The candidate has strong programming skills with experience in building user friendly software applications, preferably for statistical applications. The software engineer will build a user friendly software package that contains the statistical

Master of Science level. The candidate has strong programming skills with experience in building user friendly
software applications, preferably for statistical applications. The candidate has strong affinity with data science and statistics and is proficient with Java, C++, and at least one statistical software (R and/or SAS). The candidate is a good
listener and willing to work closely with scientists from microbiology to understand their requirements. The candidate has good communication skills. Furthermore, the candidate is proficient in speaking and writing English and is willing to learn Dutch.
