Job description

Society is changing at a rapid pace, due to increased collection, processing, and analysis of data. Are you eager to advance our understanding of these changes in society? Are you excited about transfering your knowledge of Information Management to the next generation of IM specialists?

The Department of Management at Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM), Tilburg University, is looking for enthusiastic colleagues to reinforce teaching in the area of IM. Both full-time academic candidates and candidates wishing to combine their work in the field with a (part-time) academic appointment are invited to apply. IM courses are offered in TiSEM’s bachelor programs in Business Economics (in Dutch Bedrijfseconomie) and International Business Administration, and in the Master Information Management. Possible courses to teach include both general IM courses, such as Academic Competencies for IM,  Management Information Systems, Information Systems Strategy, and more computational or analytical courses, such as Digitization and Big Data Analytics, Service-oriented Architecture, and Computer Programming.

The lecturer who is appointed will be involved in courses taught in English, and in courses in Dutch when possible. All courses are taught by a team of instructors, so you can develop your teaching skills and gain experience. Among the tasks are course development, giving lectures, tutorials or lab sessions, and assessing assignments and exams. You will also be expected to supervise bachelor or master’s students who are writing their thesis. In the special case that you have excellent programming skills, you may be asked to perform complex programming tasks, in setting up lab sessions or assisting fellow researchers in data collection and analysis.
