The Department of Psychology, Education & Child Studies at the Erasmus University Rotterdam invites applications for an Associate Professor position in our Clinical Psychology program.

The principle responsibilities of the Associate Professor will be to contribute to our Clinical & Health Psychology research program and to contribute to our educational program within the Department of Psychology, Education & Child Studies (Section Clinical Psychology). Particularly, the associate professor will attract and conduct research within the new program of Forensic and Legal Psychology. Further, the candidate will play a crucial role in the development of a one-year master program in forensic psychology. In addition, we are looking for someone who has the ambition to become a full professor in a few years.

The core tasks include:

• Participating in teaching at a bachelor’s and master’s level. Teaching involves also individual supervision of internships and research theses; workgroups supervision, lectures and independent coordination of parts of the curriculum;
• Supervising PhD candidates;
• The design and supervision of studies in the area of Forensic Psychology;
• Carrying out and supervising research within the program;
• Management tasks with regard to education/research;
• Publishing research findings in high impact international scientific journals
• Initiating and contributing to the acquisition of substantial external research funding for the benefit of the research program.

 We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a PhD-degree in a relevant area such as forensic psychology, clinical psychology, or experimental psychology;
• Has a a substantial national and international network in this area;
• Has a strong, internationally competitive academic record and show evidence of a productive research trajectory, including ample experience with supervision of PhD students
  • Has been successful in the acquisition of research funding;
  • Persons with clinical expertise are particularly encouraged to apply
  • Has excellent social skills, is a team player, and the abilities to lead a team
  • Has a record of excellence in teaching and be able to develop and teach courses at bachelor and master level.

Your remuneration will depend on the position, your specific knowledge and experience It will be calculated on the basis of full-time salary ranging between EUR €5.039,- and € 6.738,- gross per month (salary scale 13 or 14, CAO NU). Erasmus University Rotterdam offers attractive terms of employment, including a holiday allowance of 8%, a year-end payment of 8.3% and 41 annual leave days in case of a full work week. Department of Psychology, Education & Child Studies (DPECS)

The Department of Psychology, Education & Child Studies provides education and research in the area of pedagogical and psychological sciences and is embedded within the Faculty of Social Science. The education is characterized by a successful and innovative didactical approach: problem based learning in combination with extensive professional and academic skills training. Our bachelor and master tracks receive top rankings each year. The Department of Clinical Psychology consists of five research groups with separate, but inter-connected research agendas: The Experimental Psychopathology group, the Developmental Psychopathology group, the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy group, the Health Psychology group, and the Forensic and Legal Psychology group.
