Job description

The Department of Data Science and Knowledge Engineering (DKE) at Maastricht University, the Netherlands, is looking for an excellent postdoctoral researcher (1.0 fte) in the area of Cybersecurity and Machine Learning. We expect the postdoctoral researcher to lead cutting-edge research in this area, and more specifically, produce and present academic publications in top-tier conferences/journals, liaise with academic and industrial partners, and work with other researchers in the field.

The postdoctoral researcher will assist in research and technology integration and will gain significant experience in multidisciplinary European research projects. To that aim, she/he will work with other researchers, as well as research and industrial partners across Europe towards the development of multivariate behavior analysis and anomaly detection techniques focused on in-depth data analysis related to cybercriminal activities. The main activities will be focused on the identification of those data sources that will allow to effectively detect specific patterns including large-scale malware analysis and classification. Overall, the target will be to detect trends and characterize advanced cyber-attacks in order to increase situational awareness.
