Your mission:

As one of our Software Engineers, you'll be at the forefront of our BCI projects. Your job? To create software that empowers people with severe paralysis to take control of their digital world. You'll be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, pushing boundaries and changing lives.

• Dive deep into BCI hardware, both implantable and non-implantable, to create seamless interfaces.
• Work your magic with real-time signal processing and machine learning to decode users' brain signals.
• Craft an intuitive user interface that turns brainwaves into computer commands – think sci-fi meets user-friendly!

• Have proven experience in developing medical and research software, including MDR and CE software
• Have formal training in Software Engineering or Computer Science
• Be proficient in Unity, C/C++/C#
• Excel in UI development (WPF/winForms/etc.)
• Be skilled with version control (Github)
• Be adept in applying quality management (eg Jira)
• Have experience with API development
• Be familiar with writing UML
• Be experienced with writing test cases and conducting software tests
• Translate research ideas to software requirements
• Thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment

The maximum salary for this position (36 - 36 hours) is € 5.504,00 gross per month based on full-time employment.

In addition, we offer an annual benefit of 8.3%, holiday allowance, travel expenses and career opportunities. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Cao University Medical Centers (UMC).

The RIBS lab pioneers cutting-edge neuroscientific methods to support individuals with neurological disorders. Our dynamic, multidisciplinary team is growing rapidly, currently featuring 8 senior scientists, 6 PhD students, 4 support staff, and numerous Master students. With expertise in neuroscience, psychology, biology, physics, computer science, and data science, we operate as a cohesive unit with complementary skills.

Our mission is to translate groundbreaking neuroscientific and technological advances into innovative solutions for individuals with severe disabilities. We utilize state-of-the-art techniques, including EEG and brain implants, high-resolution fMRI (1.5, 3, and 7T human Philips systems), and recordings in patients during awake neurosurgery.
