Job description

Are you proactive, passionate and ready for a new meaningful challenge? Do you already have experience as a communication advisor and outreach manager and a passion or background in Science? This role is for you!

In this unique role, you will be working at QuTech, dedicating all your efforts to QIA, the Quantum Internet Alliance. As a Communication Advisor, you will have the opportunity to become an integral part of QIA, a collaboration involving more than 40 industrial and academic organizations across Europe.

QIA's mission is to build a global Quantum Internet by developing a full-stack prototype network that validates all key subsystems. Additionally, QIA aims to foster an innovative European Quantum Internet ecosystem, capable of scaling all sub-systems to achieve world-leading European technology.

As our Communication officer your responsibilities will be to raise awareness about the Quantum Internet Alliance (QIA) and its mission and execute various activities such as:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with the communication offices of QIA partners to align, support, and monitor the writing and publication of press releases and news articles, and promoting them through QIA channels.
  • Preparing QIA’s monthly newsletter.
  • Providing communication and outreach support for QIA activities such as QIA Hackathons, Use Case Challenges, the QIA Technology Forum…
  • Creating rich media outreach materials for print and online use.
  • Managing QIA’s social media channels (LinkedIn and Twitter) and online collaboration platforms (Teams and Slack), including but not limited to engaging with relevant stakeholders, answering queries and monitoring analytics.
  • Organizing QIA’s participation in industry events, and providing support in QIA-organized events.
  • Managing the QIA website, including content creation by writing and publishing news updates and other content, website maintenance, and SEO optimization using best practices and analyzing website metrics.
  • Managing QIA’s social media presence by developing content strategies, creating relevant campaigns and engaging posts, increasing engagement with QIA results, and analyzing social media performance to adjust strategies as needed.

Requirements

We are looking for a Communication officer who is hands on, creative with 3 years of experience at least in communication, outreach and community building, preferably in a technical environment.

Furthermore you have:

  • HBO or Bachelors’ Degree
  • Knowledge of CMS and social media marketing & analytics tools.
  • Ability to work in a large consortium of partners across several European countries.
  • Interest in quantum technology.

Dutch citizenship or a European working permit is required to apply.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 10th months.

This is a replacement for a maternity cover, we will offer you a 10th month contract which can be extended if needed. The UFO profile is Communication officer 1 with a full-time salary based on VSNU-CAO Scale 9 (3377 Euros to 4640 Euros).

Additionally, you will also receive:

  • A choice of working contract from 24 h to 32 h per week.
  • 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
