Do you enjoy working at the interface of mathematics, scientific computing, data science, and applications? Interested in developing numerical methods that combine physics- and data-based approaches for complex problems? We have an opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to join our team.
The Computational Science Group at the Eindhoven University of Technology is seeking excellent applicants for an open postdoctoral position in the context of the project 'DIMENSION,' an inter-disciplinary project funded by the European Research Council. The group is within the Center for Analysis, Scientific Computing, and Applications (CASA), which is part of the
Mathematics and Computer Science Department at Eindhoven University of Technology.
We are particularly seeking individuals who possess strong research interest and capability, and who are interested in joining a
multi-disciplinary team developing advanced, data-driven, computational methods for dimension reduction. The methods we develop seek to accelerate the simulation and solution of optimisation, control, uncertainty quantification, inverse, and data assimilation problems, especially involving systems governed by parametrized differential equations.
Although the broader project deals with multi-scale problems in solid mechanics, the developed methods will be widely applicable to a wide range of engineering applications.
In this particular project, the candidate will be expected to develop of dimension reduction methods for problems with stochastic parameters, as well as assist in education and supervision activities.
