As a project manager, you will be part of the Project Support Team. The members of the Project Support Team provide support for research projects in the various departments of the Humanities Faculty. These include projects funded by the ERC and NWO, as well as first-flow research projects. The team is part of the chain Research Support.
For the NWA-ORC project Re/Presenting Europe, led by Prof. Dr. Rachel Gillett, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced project manager who wants to contribute to a study on the history of diversity and inclusion in the Netherlands. In this role, you will assist with the management of the project “Re/Presenting Europe: Popular Representations of Diversity and Belonging”, that investigates how we produce better knowledge about the many “othered” populations that have shaped Europe for centuries. In the project we seek to address the trauma and historical impact of the Dutch and European colonial past and create representations that build more inclusive futures. It brings together sub-projects in education and research from postcolonial and globalising perspectives as well as urban arts, hip hop, and sports. Through a grassroots approach, with close collaboration between scholars and community-based organisations, the project endeavors to make knowledge within major academic and cultural institutions more inclusive. The project has a grant of 4.9 million euros from the Dutch Research Agenda and brings together an interdisciplinary consortium.
As project manager of Re/Presenting Europe, you will work closely with the lead researcher (PI/Primary investigator) of the project, cultural historian, Rachel Gillett. You are responsible for coordinating this interdisciplinary consortium. Showing commitment to, and experience with, issues of diversity and belonging is an asset in this position.
