Job description

We welcome applications of group leaders who run their own lab (senior PI).

Requirements

Function of the candidate group leader

You will lead a research group at the Hubrecht Institute. You will run your group with scientific independence. Your research group will contribute to and/or complement the overall goal of the Hubrecht Institute to strengthen its unique position nationally and internationally as a center of excellence in developmental biology and stem cell research.

The Institute

The Hubrecht Institute, a research institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) founded in 1916, focuses on research in the field of developmental and stem cell biology. The Hubrecht performs fundamental research, which also provides insight into diseases such as cancer or developmental disorders. The Hubrecht comprises a team of 20 group leaders with various, multidisciplinary expertise, supported by various support teams. The institute is affiliated with the University Medical Centre Utrecht (UMC Utrecht) and has a partnership with the EMBL (Heidelberg). The Hubrecht Institute is located at the Utrecht Science Park.

Research environment

The Hubrecht offers an international and highly dynamic scientific environment. For many years, the Hubrecht is an internationally recognized world-class research institute (see recent SEP). The organization has a flat structure with an informal and collaborative atmosphere. Scientific groups are supported by administrative and scientific facilities.
