IT developer / data engineer Healthy Data

• You have proven expertise in a discipline within data science or language and speech technology (ASR & NLP), preferably health-related and linked to linguistics.
• You have experience with the FAIRification of data (preferably health-related), harmonisation of metadata schemes, GDPR aspects of research on sensitive data, knowledge of the potential and risks of advanced methods of AI-based data processing and application development, preferably related to language and speech technology, as evidenced by research projects, publications and/or teaching experience. You have a clear vision on ethical and privacy aspects in this particular context.
• You hold a Master's degree in data science or language and speech technology (completed before the starting date of this position) or in another relevant discipline such as computer science, provided the research centres on an area of data science.
• You have a demonstrated ability to interact and establish links with other communication science and/or data science subdisciplines.
• You are proficient in English and preferably also in Dutch. If Dutch is not your native language, you will be expected to become proficient in Dutch at the C1 level within two years.
• Ideally, you have experience or affinity with working in a scrum or agile  team, so that you will be able to co-create sustainable solutions that strengthen our data-driven infrastructure and/or AI applications for health and healthcare.

• It concerns an employment for 0.8 FTE.
• The gross monthly salary amounts to a minimum of €3,226 and a maximum of €5,090 based on a 38-hour working week, depending on previous education and number of years of relevant work experience (salary scale 10).
• You will receive 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
• It concerns a temporary employment for 1 year, with the prospect of a permanent contract after positive evaluation.
• You will be able to use our Dual Career and Family Care Services. Our Dual Career and Family Care Officer can assist you with family-related support, help your partner or spouse prepare for the local labour market, provide customized support in their search for employment and help your family settle in Nijmegen.
• Working for us means getting extra days off. In case of full-time employment, you can choose between 30 or 41 days of annual leave instead of the legally allotted 20.

The Faculty of Arts is committed to knowledge production with a significant scientific and social impact. With over 500 academic and support staff, we teach and conduct research in the fields of history and art, languages and cultures, and linguistics and communication, using innovative methodologies and working in close collaboration with each other. Our research is embedded in two research institutes: the Centre for Language Studies (CLS) and the Radboud Institute for Culture & History (RICH). We currently have approximatively 2,500 students, enrolled in three departments: the Department of History, Art History and Classics, the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures, and the Department of Language and Communication. We have access to large amounts of data and numerous tools that impact our life in unprecedented ways. Prevention and treatment of diseases require a lean approach to using this data. By making health-related research data better and more responsibly available to researchers, we can contribute even better to solutions for improving our health and healthcare. Radboud University and the Radboud university medical center aim to have the best campus for researchers in data and AI-driven research. That is why we are participating in the Radboud Healthy Data programme, in which we bring together and further develop our expertise in health-related data management and AI towards a sustainable digital infrastructure for the entire campus.

We build on existing activities and strong ties with partners in our network. Through this programme, we strengthen the data-driven infrastructure for health and healthcare.
