Although Nijmegen is the oldest city in the Netherlands, it remains young at heart. The city is known for its vibrant cultural scene, with festivals like the Walk of the World, music venues, and arthouse cinemas. Day or night, there's always something happening.
You can stroll through expansive city parks or explore winding streets lined with historic buildings. Prefer nature? Walk along the Waal River, cycle across one of its bridges, or visit the nearby city beaches, forests, and nature reserves — or even cross the border into Germany.
Thanks to its favourable location, Nijmegen offers excellent connections to the rest of Europe. Major cities like Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris are just a train ride away. Learn more about Nijmegen by watching this video.
