Job description

Are you the forward-thinking and enthusiastic scientist, teacher and team player, dedicated to research and teaching in the area where developmental biology and biophysics meet? Then we are looking for you.

The experimental zoology group (EZO) is looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic scientist with expertise in quantitative (theoretical and/or experimental) biophysical approaches in developmental biology. You will lead and develop cutting-edge research synergizing with the mission and current staff expertise at EZO.

Requirements

Applicants need to have post-doc experience, and proven experience in obtaining research funding, supervising PhD students and/or post-doctoral researchers, and fostering national and international collaborations. Didactic talent and skills should be in line with BSc and MSc teaching requirements. Candidates are expected to have a very good level of spoken and written English and an excellent publication record commensurate with career stage and experience.

We aspire to attract scientific talent and to stimulate and support their development. We offer a temporary 7-year contract with the possibility of extension and a permanent position. The salary will depend on expertise and experience. Gross salary for assistant professors is from €3,637 to €5,656 per month and for associate professors from €5,039 to €6,738 per month based on full time employment. Excellent performance and seniority can be rewarded with an appointment as associate professor. The Department of Animal Sciences is involved in research and education related to the health and welfare of animals and people. The primary focus is on the functioning of animals, both from a curiosity-driven and an applied perspective.
