The immigration team of the International Office of Erasmus University has a vacancy for an enthusiastic and skilled administrative talent! You will be joining a dynamic and dedicated team. Together with our other immigration officers you will ensure a smooth immigration process and give our new international students a good start at Erasmus University. Job description

Your role is to provide support to students and faculties in immigration procedures. Your tasks will include:

  • Assessing visa applications from students with a non-EU/EEA nationality;
  • Filing applications at the IND (Dutch Immigration Service);
  • Advising students and faculties about various immigration issues;
  • Communicating with students by email, WhatsApp, Skype and in person;
  • Participating in meetings and network groups and taking minutes;
  • Handling administrative duties and routine work, such as maintaining the data base and sorting files;
  • Providing support to the Admissions Office during peak times.

Requirements

  • Affinity with international students and administrative processes;
  • Higher Vocational Education (HBO) working level;
  • Excellent command of the English language (preferably C1) and good command of spoken and written Dutch (or the willingness to acquire B2 level within two years);
  • Excellent skills in Excel and Word;
  • Accurate, structured, proactive and independent way of working;
  • Accustomed to, at good at, handling multiple simultaneous tasks and deadlines;
  • Good (intercultural) communication skills and customer oriented;
  • Team spirit, flexible and open minded;         
  • Previous experience in the immigration work field, with working with databases (Osiris) and/or student-education support is an advantage.

Conditions of employment

An internationally oriented and varied job in an enthusiastic team, with good working conditions in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU).

The successful candidate will be offered a one year contract with Erasmus University Rotterdam. The contract can be extended in case of a positive assessment or turned into a fixed employment contract.

In accordance with the conditions applied at Erasmus University Rotterdam as indicated in the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO NU) of the Dutch universities, the salary is dependent on the candidate’s experience and is set at a maximum of CAO NU scale 7 with a minimum of  € 2.329,- and a maximum of € 3.144,- gross per month, on a fulltime basis. In addition, EUR pays an 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year payment of 8.3% and offers excellent secondary benefits, and a very generous leave scheme. Furthermore, EUR is affiliated with ABP for the pension provision and we offer partially paid parental leave, fully paid extended birth leave for partners, a personal education budget, work-life balance coaches and more. Employees can also use EUR facilities, such as the Erasmus sports center and the University library.
