Job description

Open, online and blended education is a new development for many teachers. TU Delft has committed to develop open education by making it an integral part of its open science programme. As open education specialist of the TU Delft Library, you work with the open education coordinator to promote open education, encourage teachers to explore new possibilities to better tailor their teaching materials to their personal educational approach and make them more accessible to students. You establish a network of contacts within faculties and you ensure good cooperation with other services of TU Delft regarding activities related to open education. In this role you advise the academic staff and the education management of the faculties to make open education part of the educational practice of the TU Delft lecturer.

The main part of your job will be to assist in the implementation of the open education resources (OER) policy that TU Delft has adopted. You will do this by giving advice to academic staff about open education and help them identify opportunities for new projects and by actively demonstrating the possibilities and benefits of open education.

You will also help to support teachers with writing open educational project proposals and by facilitating the development of (online) learning activities with open educational resources for courses. You will be asked to coordinate open education projects and stimulate the design of new projects at the faculties through consultations and workshops.

Working on open education is also a close cooperation with other educational support teams within the university (like Education & student affairs) on topics like course development, development and publication of teaching materials and didactics, to be able to translate the needs of teachers into concrete open education solutions. You stimulate the cooperation between the lecturers and these departments and monitor the process.

You will work closely together on the aforementioned tasks with the open education coordinator.
