What we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced researcher with a PhD and proven leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to independently acquire and conduct research. You have the creativity to translate the opportunities, possibilities and challenges in the field into promising innovative research proposals and projects. We expect you to have a good network of national and regional contacts within and beyond the work field. You have a track record of externally funded projects and scientific and other publications. You have experience as a daily supervisor of one or more PhD candidates.
The core of the position is practice-based research, but you will also play a role in the development of the curriculum for Information & Communication Technology, and master-level modules. Relevant teaching experience is, therefore, a must. You can work and think in a strategic and structured way. You are a role model for lecturers, students and researchers wishing to develop in this ever-changing field. You have oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English; German is a welcome addition.

The research team of the School of IT and Media Design consists of four research groups in the field of IT and Media that work closely together and present a single front to the outside world. We are a meeting place for professors, researchers, lecturers, students and industry partners with a strong interest in innovative research. The team members are committed to digital innovation based on key technologies and methodologies that have proven their value to individuals, organizations and society. We focus our research to achieve goals such as those within the three HAN key areas of Smart, Clean and Social.
The School of IT and Media Design currently offers two programs: Communication and Multimedia Design and Information & Communication Technology. The school's 220 staff members currently teach more than 2,500 students to meet the high demand for ICT-savvy communication professionals and communication-savvy ICT professionals.
