The Laboratory of Geo-information Science and Remote Sensing (GRS) is seeking an enthusiastic management assistant (0.6 FTE). In this role, you will be responsible for administrative support alongside another management assistant and a financial administrator. The group is led by two professors. Although you primarily work for the entire group, they may also approach you for specific tasks/support. Communication within the group is largely conducted in English, and English-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply.

Our laboratory's mission is to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for spatial problems through research and education at the BSc, MSc, and PhD levels.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:
  • Taking meeting minutes; managing agendas; handling mail; dealing with correspondence; managing phone and email communication;
  • Entering GRS publications and related materials into the library's registration system; • Managing invoicing and processing orders;
  • Making travel bookings and orders;
  • Specific HR-related tasks such as administrative support for the introduction of new (international) employees;
  • Booking meeting locations, arranging catering, and organizing (small and large-scale) events;
  • Assisting with IT and workspace issues;
  • Assisting with education/student-related administrative tasks;
  • Providing ad hoc assistance to colleagues and visitors.

Requirements

  • Administrative or secretarial work experience;
  • Good command of the English language (B2 level);
  • A service-oriented and proactive attitude, someone who thinks along about processes and content;
  • An enthusiastic colleague with good communication skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and the ability and motivation to quickly familiarize yourself with various administrative software systems.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between € 2,618,- and €3.298,- for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 6). Initially, we offer you a one-year contract for 24 hours per week, which will then be extended to an open-ended contract if there is mutual enthusiasm.
