Are you an expert in the field of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE)? Do you want to work in an innovative environment where we work on the most urgent issues of our time, such as climate change, nitrogen, and biodiversity? Then we are looking for you as our new Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment Coordinator (QHSE)!

In your role as QHSE coordinator, you will proactively work on occupational health, safety, and environmental issues. You establish frameworks and policies and ensure compliance after implementation. Together with your colleagues, you are the point of contact for QHSE-related matters, bridging the gap between theory and practice by practically implementing QHSE policies based on legislation and supporting researchers in this regard.

We are looking for two new colleagues, and the appointment as QHSE coordinator is for 0.7-1.0 FTE (by mutual agreement).

What will you do?
  • You are the point of contact for QHSE topics such as first aid, permits, hazardous substances, and incidents;
  • You advise colleagues on QHSE tasks and translate laws and regulations into practice;
  • You ensure the maintenance of relevant quality systems;
  • You are jointly responsible for the execution of internal and external audits;
  • You coordinate various regulations for the import of research materials and dangerous substances;
  • You are involved in investigating incidents and accidents;
  • You write, maintain, and communicate work instructions and protocols;
  • You conduct new risk assessments, keep the risk inventory and evaluation up to date, and manage the action plan.

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor's level of education and thinking in the field of Quality, Health & Safety, and Environment, and for example, you possess a Higher Safety Management, Occupational Hygienist, Environmental, or equivalent qualification.
  • If you have a Secondary Safety Management qualification (MBO), we are willing to provide you with the opportunity to be trained to a higher level.
  • Experience with audits is preferred.

  • You can interpret standards and guidelines into practice and are capable of recognizing and reducing risks. You can empathize with the situation of employees and search for solutions with them.
  • You are strong in organization and communication (both verbally and in writing).
  • Additionally, you are enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, and seek connections with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You have a good command of the Dutch and English language at least at a B2 level.
  • You are customer and solution-oriented, work independently and meticulously.
  • You enjoy quickly and smartly navigating between different parties and administrative levels in a dynamic environment.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € 3,088,- and €5,737,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 10-11). You will initially receive a one-year contract, which will be extended to an open-ended contract upon in mutual enthusiasm.
