Postdocs in Applied Micro-Econometrics (2.0 FTE)

The two positions are regular postdoc positions at the EEF Department for the period until August 2022, funded by a grant from the German Science Foundation (DFG). They involve carrying out applied micro-econometric research in labour economics and/or related fields. The research may include applications of modern artificial-intelligence methods, for example to study the assignment of active labour market policies. Alternative examples of fitting research topics are the study of biomarkers and the analysis of randomised controlled trials.

The research will be carried out in close collaboration with Professor Gerard van den Berg in Groningen. For at least one of the postdoc positions, part of the research is envisaged to be carried out in collaboration with Professor Gesine Stephan and colleagues of the IAB Institute in Nuremberg which is the research and data institute of the German Federal Employment Agency.

• a PhD in (labour) economics, econometrics or a related field (demography, epidemiology, public health etc.)
• interest in applied micro-econometrics as evidenced by papers in this field
• organisational qualities and good communication and presentation skills
• national and international professional network.

We offer you in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:

- a salary depending on qualifications and work experience from a minimum of € 2,790 gross per month (salary scale 10) to a maximum of € 5,127 gross per month (salary scale 11)
- 8% holiday allowance, 8.3% year-end bonus and participation in a pension scheme
- a full-time position until August 2022.

Starting date: as soon as possible

Within the university, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and its Department of Economics, Econometrics and Finance (EEF) constitute an active and internationally oriented research community, performing at the highest level in terms of research and publications. Micro-econometricians in the department develop methodological tools in tune with empirical applications, notably in labor and health economics and in policy evaluation.
