Within our institute we have a vacancy for a Postdoc to strengthen our newest department Neurobiology & Aging. This department investigates aging and age-associated diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and dementia, diseases that affect more and more people every year. Besides, the neurological effects of SARS-CoV-2 are investigated. Many aspects of these diseases are still unknown of misunderstood and/or not fully examined.
The postdoc we are looking for will be concerned with more in depth research of this neuroscientific field. He or she will cooperate on many aspects of this research and will use his/her knowledge and ideas to design and execute projects. This all happens within cooperation of the department and in collaboration with several other disciplines of the BPRC, like veterinarians, radiology and pathology. Because of the nature of this work, he or she will be responsible for scientific reports and for publishing research data.

BPRC is a scientific research institute that conducts biomedical research on serious diseases, e.g. AIDS, malaria, hepatitis, corona, tuberculosis and autoimmune diseases such as MS, as well as age-associated diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. We aim to contribute to developing vaccines and medicines for life threatening human diseases. At the same time, we also expend a great deal of energy on the development of testing methods that do not involve animal testing.
