Job description

The research will be embedded in several national consortia, including the SPREAD+ project, and collaborate with clinical practice in dementia care, as part of the Academic Workplace (academische werkplaats ‘hulp bij dementie na de diagnose’), and the measurement of everyday cognition. The research will take place in close collaboration with the Vrije Universiteit, section of Clinical Neuropsychology. The post-doctoral researcher will play an important role in supporting the Principle Investigators, as well as supervising PhD candidates and research assistants.

The post-doc researcher will contribute to solving the following questions:
  • How can we harmonize outcome measures in non-pharmacological intervention studies using psychometrics?
  • How can we optimally organize data management to advance research in non-pharmalogical interventions in the Netherlands?
  • How can we advance the use of digital tools of (everyday) cognition for the early detection of dementia?
  • How can we implement digital tools supporting people living with dementia?
  • The researcher will provide support to PI, PhD candidates and research assistents, for example by active participation in lab meetings;
  • The post-doc researcher will design, preregister, perform, analyze, report and publish results from this study;
  • The researcher coordinates and manages data collection in experts and patient groups;
  • The researcher performs data analyses under supervision of the research team;
  • The project will result in 2-3 publications;
  • The project will be presented at (inter)national research conferences;
  • The researcher will work according to Open Science Principles outlined by NWO.

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented postdoc passionate about patient-related research, clinical implementation, novel measurement tools, and open science.
  • The candidate should have a finished PhD in psychology, medicine health related sciences or a related discipline, with a specific interest in research.
  • The candidate has participated in patient-related research, and has some experience in organizing and performing both quantatative and qualitative research.
  • Strong (oral and written) communication skills and the ability to connect with different target groups are important for this research
  • Because of the patient-related component of this research, we require a good proficiency of both Dutch and English language skills.
  • Affinity with (advanced) psychometrics and statistics (e.g. SPSS, R)
  • Clinical experience, as evidenced by a BAPD certificate, is preferred but not mandatory.

Conditions of employment

  • You will start with a full time employment of initially 1 year contract (12 months) with the intention of extending.
  • Salary scale 10: € 3.359 tot € 5.292 (based on a 36 hour week), depending on qualifications and experience. The monthly wage will increase yearly.
  • Additional benefits including an 8.3% end-of-year bonus and 8% holiday pay. Calculate your net salary here.
