The Human Performance Management (HPM) group seeks to appoint, as of September 1st, 2025, a lecturer (0.8 - 1.0 FTE). As part of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences (IE&IS) of the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), the HPM group focuses its education and research on optimizing the role of human resources in operational and innovation processes in organizations. The group teaches courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and PhD levels.

Job description
We are looking for a new colleague with a strong affinity, and preferably demonstrable experience, with academic teaching, who can assist us in providing our education and expanding the teaching portfolio of the HPM group. We provide core and elective courses in the Bachelor program Industrial Engineering, and in the Master programs Innovation Management (track: Leadership and Organizing Innovation) and Operations Management & Logistics. These range from introductory courses in Work & Organizational Psychology and Organizational Behavior to more specialized courses on managing employee performance, leadership, managing team dynamics, social innovation, and working with new technologies.

You will be working in close collaboration with teams of senior lecturers, and you will contribute to the design, execution, and assessment of teaching (in our courses and in individual Bachelor- and Master- graduation projects). You will be offered the opportunity to work on obtaining your University Teaching Qualification. In addition, you will have the opportunity to spend 0.2 FTE on research-related activities (based on the full-time equivalent of 1.0 FTE).

Requirements

We offer a stimulating and ambitious educational and research environment and are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
  • a PhD degree in Industrial Engineering, Work and Organizational Psychology, Organizational Science, or a related field or: a PhD thesis in the final phase of completion;
  • demonstrable affinity and/or experience with teaching (coordination) or teaching-related tasks;
  • good communication skills (oral and written) in English;
  • good organizational and collaboration skills and a proactive work orientation.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 36 months.

We offer you temporary employment of 0.8-1.0 FTE as of September 1st for a period of a maximum of 36 months. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities. Additionally, you will get a holiday allowance of 8% of the yearly salary plus a year-end allowance of 8.3% of the yearly salary.
