Eindhoven School of Education (ESoE) at the Eindhoven University of Technology is looking for a researcher / project leader with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) background and management skills.
Are you interested in improving initial education of pre-service science teachers by developing, testing, and assessing a comprehensive and innovative training programme on Education for Environmental Sustainability (EES). The SENSES project aspires to link transnational partners in a shared effort to advance initial teacher education (ITE) for EES in Europe, contributing to the systematic integration of EES in European education systems and policies.

Context: European ProjectThe overall aim of the SENSES project is to support university students from science education departments, to develop their competences in designing and delivering meaningful EES. To achieve this overall goal the project sets the following objectives:
O1: Design an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Framework for EES to specifically address the Pedagogical Design Capacity of science education students.
O2: Equip the teaching staff of HEIs (education and science education departments) with competences, tools and methods for training their students in EES.
O3: Build university students Pedagogical Design Capacity in developing appropriate classroom instruction for EES through SSI.
O4: Test the training materials, the online course and the serious game in real life conditions to empirically validate the contribution of SENSES to develop the pedagogical design capacity of prospective teachers in EES.
O5: Facilitate the dissemination of the project results and encourage their integration in initial teacher education systems both in partner countries and internationally.
InformationYou will be responsible for assisting the planning and execution of the four main tasks in the project: 1) Management and General Administration, 2) Financial Management (in collaboration with the financial department), 3) Quality Assurance and 4) Ethics Management. Specifically, your work will be:
- Assisting the principal investigator
- Leading of the WP1 (project management) and WP2 (ITE framework for EES) activities
- Collaborating for a study on literature review, ITE mapping and assessment and pedagogical design capacity
- Organizing administration of surveys and focus groups
- Collaborating the publication of research
- Creating professional learning communities in the Netherlands
- Collaborating for the design of the Train the Trainer programme
- Translation of the materials and educational resources into Dutch, when it’s necessary
- Collaborating for the implementation of the project activities and timely achievement of results
- Reporting progress to the National Agency by preparing and submitting interim reports,
- Monitoring and evaluating all project activities and deliverables
- Assisting the preparation and submitting the project’s final report to the Dutch National Agency.
